The International Poetry Gathering of Monterey welcomes Monterey County's new Poet Laureate, Marie Boucher, to East Village Cafe on Sunday, Jan. 25, 3pm-5pm. Join us for a celebration of words from the wilds rooted in community, care, and resilience.
About Marie Boucher
Marie Boucher is Assistant Professor & Program Head for English for Academic and Professional Purposes at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and Monterey County's new Poet Laureate.
Marie's poems revolve around recurring themes of our integral relationship with the natural world and all beings. She encourages us to learn from other species. The lessons from nature inspire Marie's poetry and how we can live in greater harmony with the earth and each other.
