About Kim Uwate
Giving “performances from the heart” with “matchless precision” (Daniel Buckwalter, Eugene Scene), violist Kimberlee Uwate loves and fosters musical community rooted in connection, reflection, and growth. As the founding violist of Delgani String Quartet, Kim spent nearly a decade with audiences expanding outward from Eugene, Oregon.
Teaching music for listeners with non-musical training has always been an essential part of Kim’s work. Through Delgani’s Classical Spark program, she loved being welcomed into third grade classrooms to talk about how music can help us feel our emotions.
Since leaving Delgani, Kim has been curating concerts in her hometown of Monterey, performing with orchestras like the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and Sarasota Orchestra, and exploring chamber music with both beloved and new colleagues in Florida, California, and Oregon.
