California State Historic Parks and the Monterey State Historic Park Association present a free event for all ages at Stevenson House entitled "Robert Louis Stevenson in the South Seas" on Sunday, August 30, 2pm-4pm.

About the Event

In August 1879, Robert Louis Stevenson arrived in Monterey - an experience that would become an important chapter in his life. At this event, we'll commemorate his time in Monterey and explore the fascinating years that followed, from his travels through the South Seas to his eventual home in Samoa.

Hear stories of Stevenson’s life in Samoa and discover objects, photographs, and artwork from his life and family. Afterward, mingle in the Stevenson House garden and enjoy light refreshments courtesy of the Robert Louis Stevenson Club of Monterey.
