A Note About Creepy Crawly Halloween in Downtown Campbell

Posted on October 22nd, 2019 by sheldon

We are looking forward to seeing some great costumes at our Creepy Crawly Halloween event this Sunday from 4-7pm! It's an all ages event so get costumed up and show us that you're young at heart or an old soul for young bones.

We'd like to remind everyone that this is an extremely popular event so if you have children or animals that are sensitive, this may not be the event for you. It will be crowded.

There will be thousands of people and paws in amazing costumes. If you're coming to see that and be a part of huge costume party in the streets, you'll have a great time. If you're coming to dash for candy and leave with as big of a stash as possible, you may leave disappointed.

There will be lots of candy and gizmos given away and activity stations to keep the little goblins occupied, but there will still be lines. We add more candy, activities, and stations every year, but it's just never going to be enough with the number of people who come.

Old Monterey Foundation is offering teachers and students throughout Monterey County the opportunity to schedule a weekday visit to the Lower Presidio Historic Park with a class walking tour conducted by historian Tim Thomas. We may also be able to help arrange reduced cost bus transportation for the visiting class.

Old Monterey Foundation also continues to team up with noted Monterey Bay historian and author Tim Thomas to offer outstanding “Lower Presidio Historic Park Walking Tours” for the public on the third Saturday of every month, 10am-12pm.

A recent class tour by instructor Karen Levy of Robert Down brought about 24 students and 6 chaperones to the Park. According to Levy, “My students and chaperones thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour of the Lower Presidio Historic Park. Tim possesses a plethora of knowledge about California's history and he shared many fascinating stories with my students; especially those involving Monterey. Tim's personal ties to the area and his passion for history shone through during his presentation. My students appreciated the Museum tour as well as the ability to be outside and enjoy the new Path of History walk around the park at the Presidio."

If a teacher would like to arrange a class tour at the Lower Presidio Historic Park, please call Wendy Brickman at 831-633-4444 or email her.

Stop by the showroom and speak with a staff member about your upcoming gathering. They take pride in great customer service.

Aprons and Dusters at Lilify

Posted on October 14th, 2019 by Lilify

Lilify now has a lovely collection of locally hand sewn aprons in stock at their shop at 281 Lighthouse Avenue in Monterey.

The Etta crossover, open size, linen apron is created using a universally beloved pattern. Apron addicts love this piece, as it has no ties or buttons and big pockets.

Etta lovers in the shop continually requested a version that could also suit a man. So they extended the straps, lowered the pockets, made the garment longer, and added a waist tie. The Elliott is a unisex, utilitarian apron perfect for those desiring more coverage.

They also received many inquiries about whether their apron was suitable to wear out. Hence, they created a duster version with all the most beloved bits! The Willa features large pockets and similar symmetry to the Etta. It is a stunning layering piece, and they've found it's favored by teachers and makers.

We hope you get the opportunity to add one of these practical yet very pretty pieces to your personal closet.
