Ok, so you're stuck for gift ideas again. Well, it's time to give up and just give out gift cards to Home Depot or Applebee's again like you did last year, right? Oh the high life, gift cards don't have to be boring!

Do you want to be "that person" gifting the ho-hum gift cards just because they were in front of you at the supermarket or do you really want to show the love with a gift card to someone's favorite spot in Downtown Campbell?

So to help you out, here's a partial list of places in Downtown Campbell that have gift cards or gift certificates available. Even better, some of these spots are offering special deals on their gift cards and they're throwing in bonus cards or selling the cards at a discount off of the face value.

See below for a list of places offering gift cards in Downtown Campbell and see our deals page for information about special deals on gift cards and gift certificates.

One Warm Coat Drive at CarmelBarre

Posted on December 9th, 2016 by CarmelBarre

It's cold it's outside and CarmelBarre realizes that not everyone in our community has a safe, warm home or even a warm coat. Because there are those in need on our peninsula, CarmelBarre is participating in a One Warm Coat Drive. Please help us keep our community warm this winter!

Please considering donating a new or gently-worn coat of any size to our drive. You may donate coats on December 11, 2pm-4pm, at the Holiday Open House at CarmelBarre in Monterey (465 Pacific Street). Or you may bring in a coast during any of our classes from now until December 31, 2016. All coats collected will be donated locally to our neighbors in need. CarmelBarre's goal is to collect 100 coats this season!

The Portola Hotel & Spa has announced plans for a complete renovation of its tree-lined atrium lobby, together with construction of a new $3.5 million entrance plaza and 40,000 square foot Monterey Conference Center. The $6 million reimagined lobby will feature extensive use of wood complimented by lighted pendants in the 25-foot lobby fichus trees as well as a new bar and lobby seating providing a unique ambience for food and bar service.

Two world renowned firms have been selected as the design partners. The San Francisco-based Puccini Group is the interior-design partner for the Portola lobby enhancements. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill is the designer for the 35,000-square foot entrance plaza and the $60 million conference space. Both the plaza and conference center are being constructed by the City of Monterey, through a long-standing private/public partnership with Portola.

“We’ve taken cues from the modern aesthetic tone set by the adjacent conference-center renovation, but have also set the hotel apart by creating a resort-like atmosphere and a strong sense of place consistent with Hotel’s setting adjacent to Monterey Bay,” added Puccini’s Chief Creative Officer, Rob Polacek. “The coastal Monterey landscape, wildlife and local artist community had a tremendous influence on our design and materials palette.”

These improvements include cutting-edge energy and water conservation fixtures, reinforcing the Portola’s commitment to green practices and its U.S. Building Council’s LEED® Certified Status. The project is scheduled for completion in April, 2017. During the renovation process, Portola will remain open for business.
