This summer, California State Parks is offering Los Exploradores de Monterey Summer Day Camp ("Los Niños") at Monterey State Historic Park, a two-week day camp for students grades 3-5, located in the heart of Old Monterey.

In this unique summer program, day campers will explore the rich cultural history and natural areas of Monterey State Historic Park and beyond. Campers will experience Monterey’s historical buildings and colorful gardens through hands-on activities such as period games and play, toys, crafts, food, songs, dances, nature observation, and interactive guided tours.

Sponsored by Monterey State Historic Park Association and led by California State Park Staff, this fun program highlights the many cultures of one of California’s most historic towns while day campers engage in some of the fun attractions of Monterey that exist today (such as a whale watching trip).

Sessions will be offered June 6-17, June 27 - July 8, and July 18-29. Please register here. Fee is $400, but tuition assistance is available for financially challenged students.

Private Parties are back at Monterey County Youth Museum! Enjoy the museum all to yourself with 2 hours of exclusive playtime for up to 50 guests (total, including adults). Each party includes a staff-led scavenger hunt, photo opportunity, and a goody bag for each child in attendance under age 12.

You are welcome to bring snacks, cake/cupcakes, and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy in the party room. Private playdates happen on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, 3:30pm-5:30pm. Fee is $395 for MY Museum members, $435 for all others.
