Posted on May 27th, 2016 by lighthouseave

Sal Zammitti and Bamboo Reef are pleased to announce we have reached an agreement with Poseidon Adventures, Mark Stanley and Brian Stanley, to acquire Bamboo Reef. Bamboo Reef was founded in 1961 by Al Giddings and purchased by Sal Zammitti in 1971. Under Sal’s leadership we grew to become the preeminent dive retailer in California with locations in San Francisco and Monterey.

We are excited that Mark and Brian Stanley will continue to nurture and grow our legacy. Mark is an SSI instructor with 12 years of teaching experience and is the retired director of the microbiology lab at Kaiser Permanente. Brian is a graduate of Hall’s Diving and brings both retail and manufacturing experience. He is an SSI scuba instructor and SSI Freediving trainer who has been manager of Bamboo Reef and developed our freediving program.

Sal Zammitti thanks you for over 55 years of support and hope that you welcome Mark and Brian as they continue to grow Bamboo Reef, SCUBA, and Freediving in California. He will be working with Mark and Brian to help them in this transition.
