Art Exhibit: The Beauty and Wonder of Wabi-Sabi

Saturday August 29th and Sunday August 30th, 2026.

The Japanese American Citizens League Hall hosts a 3-day pop-up art exhibition entitled The Beauty and Wonder of Wabi-Sabi, August 28-30. Admission is free. Hours are: Friday, 5pm-7pm, and Saturday & Sunday, 1pm-4pm.

In this exhibit, artists Adam Gota and Peter Hiller share their individual perspectives of wabi-sabi through their work and that of other artists, including Minor White and Leon Moburg.

About Adam Gota

Adam Gota is a contemporary mixed media artist whose work identifies with his own family’s history, the Japanese American diaspora, and today's social and political climate.

Born and raised on the central coast, he's had the privilege to work with local nonprofits and schools to bring community-building art and murals to the region. His art has graced the walls of many local businesses, galleries, and public walls.

About Peter Hiller

Peter Hiller has lived his life as an artist and teacher, expressing his creativity through his own art and sharing that experience with his students for almost forty years. Since 1981, he's lived on the Monterey Peninsula with his wife. He is the proud father of two grown sons.
