California State Parks presents Los Exploradores de Monterey Summer Day Camp at Monterey State Historic Park, a day camp for students grades 3-5 located in the heart of Old Monterey.

Activities

In this unique summer program, day campers will experience Monterey’s historical buildings and colorful gardens through hands-on activities such as: period games and play, toys, crafts, food, songs, dances, nature observation, and interactive guided tours throughout Monterey State Historic Park and beyond.

Schedule and Fees

All four 5-day sessions will be held in June and July - see the schedule here, and list of activities here. Fee is $325 per week, or $550 for two sessions. Financial assistance is available - please email MSHP for details.

Venture Gallery presents Sherree Anderson, our featured local artist for June. Her exhibit, Pacific Ocean Inspirations, features iconic seaside scenes of Pebble Beach and Hawaii.

About the Exhibit

Sherree Anderson’s love of the Monterey Peninsula and Hawaii is showcased in her beautiful and colorful paintings of seascapes and landscapes, one featuring the famous Lone Cypress in Pebble Beach. Her realistic style invites the viewer to feel as if they could step into her paintings.

About Venture Gallery

Morgan holds a B.S. in Kinesiology with a focus in Exercise Science which gives her a strong foundation in anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, and movement science. She has more than 10 years of experience in both personal and group training, specializing in strength training, weight loss, and conditioning.

Her goal is to help people train smart, move well, and feel strong...every single day.

Summer is just around the corner, and we’re excited to share our lineup of engaging activities designed to keep your preschool-aged child active, learning, and having fun! Here’s what we have in store for you this summer.

🌟 Summer Kindergarten Prep (4-5.5 YRS) M-Th 8:30am-11:30am

Prepare your child for the upcoming school year with our Kindergarten Prep program! Over a 4-week session, children will attend school 4 days a week, participating in creative learning experiences that promote social interaction, language development, motor skills, science, math, and art — all in a play-based learning environment.

⚽ Soccer Tots (3-5 YRS)

Kick off the summer with Soccer Tots! This program introduces young athletes to the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, and shooting through fun, age-appropriate games and activities. Participants will develop balance, coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a safe, supportive environment.

🏀 Skyhawks Mini Hawk Baseball, Basketball & Soccer Camp (4-5 YRS) M-F 9am-12pm July 7th-11th

This program is the perfect introduction to athletics for young children! Skyhawks Mini Hawk focuses on the fundamentals of baseball, basketball, and soccer in a safe, structured, and fun environment. Through engaging games and activities, kids will explore balance, movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace.

🌳 Day Camp: Teeter Totters (2.75-5.5 YRS) M-F 9:30am-12:30pm

Perfect for younger campers, Teeter Totters provides a safe introduction to the day camp experience. Activities include group games, art, storytelling, water play, and camp songs in a well-supervised setting at the Campbell Community Center.

🐻 Day Camp: Camper Cubs (4-5 YRS) M-F 10am-3pm

Camper Cubs is a fantastic first outdoor day camp experience for young children, held at John D. Morgan Park. Campers will enjoy group games, art, water play, storytelling, and a special themed activity each Wednesday. This program is ideal for children who can stay with a group and follow camp leader instructions.
