Are you still shopping?
It might be time to just get a gift card and let them decide themselves what they want. If you give a gift card that's from a small business, your gift does double duty by also supporting a small locally owned business.
We can help you do that with our gift card directory of Downtown Campbell. There are just shy of 30 small businesses in our downtown that you can get a gift card from and there are gift cards for all kinds of shops, eateries, and services for you to choose from.
Many of the cards can be purchased and delivered electronically so if waiting until the very last minute is just your style, you can run it down to the wire as you please. We hope you find our Gift Cards Directory helpful and thank you for supporting small businesses in these difficult times.
While the doors of Monterey County Youth Museum (MY Museum) are physically closed in Downtown Old Monterey, we continue to provide play in fun and engaging ways for families while working to keep our organization alive and able to reopen in 2021. Please consider making a donation today to support us. Due to some very generous donors, donations made through Monterey County Gives! will have access to matching funds! Increase the impact of your donation between November 12th and December 31st.
MY Museum has had to make some difficult financial decisions in order to be in a good position to re-open when it is safe to do so. That said, we still need to pay our mortgage and are in critical need for community support. We carefully reviewed our budget line-by-line on day one and cut all costs possible. We received the PPP loan, but that was only temporary. General operating support would mean the most to us right now and could have the biggest impact on keeping the museum in operation for the long haul. The Association of Children’s Museums is projecting that 30% of children’s museums will not make it through this time and we are confident with support we will be one of the lucky ones.
In brighter news, with our physical space unavailable to families, our mission to provide play to families is always open. During the past few months we have provided the power of play to those who need it through our awesome Shelter & Play Kits. To date we have distributed over 2750 kits and are planning another 5000 more in the Winter and Spring of 2021.
On December 16, 2020, Portola Hotel & Spa opened our doors for the first time since March, and we are thrilled! We look forward to welcoming leisure travel in the New Year, and we hope everyone continues to travel responsibly. Thank you to all essential workers and businesses for your continued efforts in battling the pandemic.
Portola Hotel & Spa is located at 2 Portola Plaza in Downtown Old Monterey. All on-site dining including Jacks Monterey, The Club Room, Peet's Coffee, and Peter B's Brewpub remain closed at this time.
